Legalhood.com is a commendable initiative for people who intend to settle their non-complex lawsuit at little cost and this fits well into the new judicial culture.
Legalhood has revolutionized the way that Canadians take care of their legal proceedings. They have successfully combined the expertise of lawyers with the familiarity of modern technology to make the law more accessible than ever before.
Thank you so much for the great service I received. Thank you for your patience and help, it is greatly appreciated. This was my first time using this type of site. I will not hesitate to contact you in the future.
A great website. Easy to use, I just had to follow the steps. A simple way to respect us at a medium cost, while respecting the law. I am really satisfied with this service and I suggest it to all of you.
Legalhood eliminated the challenges of navigating the small claims legal system. The website was user friendly and when we had questions, the support provided was exceptional. Legalhood proved to be efficient, affordable and ultimately successful!
Legalhood was super easy to use and it was much, much cheaper than what my lawyer was going to charge me for the same demand letter.
I got the service in two hours without having to go anywhere. Congratulations to your team and the great idea of this platform. I recommend you to anyone in need of a lawyer.
You must complete our interactive form by answering simple questions. You can do it anywhere and anywhere with a stable Internet connection.
If you have at least one dependent child: the service is free for you. The government of Quebec will pay for the first five (5) hours of mediation. After these 5 hours, you will have to pay $110/hour of mediation.
If you don’t have any dependent child: the service is also free for you. The government of Quebec will pay for the first three (3) hours of mediation. After these 3 hours, you will have to pay $110/hour of mediation.
We will send your spouse an email inviting them to participate in mediation*. We may reach out to them by phone if deemed necessary.
PLEASE NOTE: the email you provide us for your spouse must be valid to allow us to invite them to participate.
*We recommend that you contact your spouse to let them know that they will be receiving this email as this form must be completed for us to assign a mediator to your case. They might also want to check their spam folder for the email.
As soon as we receive your spouse’s form confirming that both parties have agreed to participate in mediation, a second form will be emailed to you.
You will be asked to provide additional information to the mediator. You must complete the form within one week upon its reception.
Once you both have provided all the required information, we will assign a mediator to your case within 3 business days.
The latter will then contact you to schedule your first virtual mediation session. They will also send you the link for your video conference.
Please make sure that both your camera and microphone are working beforehand. Otherwise, you may join the meeting by phone.
If you reach a settlement, the mediator will prepare a settlement report and email it to both of you.
It will then be possible, upon request, for the mediator to draft the proceedings that can either be certified by the court or homologated. The mediator will provide you with more information on this procedure.
Lastly, you will have the opportunity to have the legal procedures drawn up between your spouse and you (i.e., a joint petition for divorce, if applicable).

Legalhood is not a law firm. The lawyers and notaries who provide legal services on the various Legalhood platforms are members of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), due to a historic and exclusive partnership concluded with the Quebec Division of this association.
