Homologation of the Mediation Agreement (Post-Mediation)

Make sure you understand and meet the following conditions before you begin:

• You must already have a mediation agreement or a mediation report;
• You must be common-law partners (not married);
• You understand that the purpose of this service is to obtain a judgment regarding child custody and/or child support payments that will be legally binding. 

The questions on the form will help the lawyer understand your situation. You must therefore make sure to answer them fully and in as much detail as possible.

It is important to note that the cost of the service includes : 

• Swearing in by a paralegal;
• Judicial stamp ($181 non-taxable);
• Online filing of your divorce documents.

We will send your ex-spouse an email (and a phone call if deemed necessary) to invite them to fill out a form and provide us with their relevant information.

PLEASE NOTE: you must provide your ex-spouse’s valid email address as this is how we will communicate with them. We highly recommend that you let your ex-spouse know that they should expect an email from us. They may want to check their spam folder.

Once you have provided the information, we will assign you a lawyer within 3 business days. If you have mediated with us, we will assign the file to the same lawyer.

He or she will then confirm the time and date of your videoconference meeting, along with a link to access it. Please ensure that your camera and microphone are working. If one is not working, you can connect by telephone.

Following your meetings with the lawyer, he or she will draw up the documents required to certify your mediation agreement. You will then be contacted by a paralegal, who will administer your oath and have you sign the documents electronically. The paralegal will then file your documents at the courthouse. You’ll also receive everything by e-mail.
