Thank you so much for the great service I received. Thank you for your patience and help, it is greatly appreciated. This was my first time using this type of site. I will not hesitate to contact you in the future.
A great website. Easy to use, I just had to follow the steps. A simple way to respect us at a medium cost, while respecting the law. I am really satisfied with this service and I suggest it to all of you.
Legalhood eliminated the challenges of navigating the small claims legal system. The website was user friendly and when we had questions, the support provided was exceptional. Legalhood proved to be efficient, affordable and ultimately successful!
Legalhood was super easy to use and it was much, much cheaper than what my lawyer was going to charge me for the same demand letter.
I got the service in two hours without having to go anywhere. Congratulations to your team and the great idea of this platform. I recommend you to anyone in need of a lawyer.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
You must complete the smart form.
We will send your ex-spouse an email (and in rare cases, give them a call) to invite them to fill out a form and to provide us with their information.
PLEASE NOTE: In order for us to be able to reach out and invite them to participate, it is your responsibility to provide a valid email address for your ex-spouse*.
*We advise that you to contact your ex-spouse to let them know that they should expect this email and that the form must be completed. They might also want to check their spam email folder.
Once both parties have filled out the required forms, which confirms that they do agree to proceed forward with the divorce, a lawyer will be assigned to your case within three (3) business days.
A 48-hour grace period is offered. You may request a full refund up to 48 hours following the completion of both forms.
Once a lawyer is assigned to your case, you will receive an email from them to confirm the time and date of your video conference session as well as a link to join the meeting*.
During this session, the lawyer will go over and confirm the information you provided. They will also ask you to provide them additional (required) documents.
*Please make sure that both your camera and microphone are working beforehand. Otherwise, you may join the meeting by phone.
Within the next seven (7) business days following your session with the lawyer, assuming you have provided all the required documents, the lawyer will email you the completed application to file for divorce based on your Draft Agreement.
You will then have to bring the printed and signed documents to your local courthouse.
A $108 administrative fee (non-taxable) will be payable directly to the courthouse.
According to our Terms of Service, you may request a full refund up to 48 hours following the completion of both forms.
After those 48 hours, we will issue a partial refund according to our Refund Policy.
If a client meets with a lawyer and purchased an Online Divorce and did not indicate they had children and then inform the lawyer that they do in fact have children, the client will be charged an additional $150 for the work incurred by the lawyer. If the client does not make the payment for these services, we will not complete their service. If the client asks for a reimbursement in this scenario, they will not be entitled to one.
Legalhood is not a law firm. The lawyers and notaries who provide legal services on the various Legalhood platforms are members of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), due to a historic and exclusive partnership concluded with the Quebec Division of this association.
